My son turns 16 on Friday. When he was small he played endlessly with Thomas the Tank Engine. He pulled them out for me tonight and I enjoyed watching him set up and we reminisced about acquiring different pieces. He never plays with them anymore…but he will never let me part with them. His forever friends.

Awe man, I can’t believe this…16 already.
Tell me about it…
My 11-year-old daughter loved her Thomas toys. When she was a toddler, she would walk around all day with one of the little, metal model trains clasped tightly in each fist. We had all the movies, most of the trains, and even a CD. Being “useful” was a high compliment in our house. š Such a simple, pure memory. Thanks for that. š
I have the tune in my head from the series lol. I forgot about being useful! That was a high complement in our home as well š
Those will be absolutely awesome for grandchildren!
Childhood memories are wonderful to hold on to. My boys have a few unique pieces tucked away where I can’t find them. We recently adopted a 6 year old and I began sorting through the linen closet for bedding that was age appropriate. “Not that one mom! It was my favorite!” So back into his room he swept with the Teenage Mutant Turtles Blanket…It has been stored away with his prized possessions. We ended up going with a new set from the store…Spiderman!
Peach State
new family members deserve spiderman sheets! Time to make new memories š
I wish I had been able to hold onto the toys from my childhood. Barbies, of course! We didn’t have much money when I was growing up so I had to make my own Barbie house out of cardboard boxes. LOL
Happy birthday to your son and happy Thursday to you!
MEEEEE TOOOOO! I used record albums for barbie walls and kleenex boxes for furniture. I kept it in my closet so I would never have to clean it up and play it forever…then we moved lol
That must have been kind of sad seeing those toys again. It reminds me of the end of Toy Story 3 – that part always makes me cry! But, it must also be nice seeing him grow into almost-adulthood.
bitter sweet for sure. It was great spending time with him tho š
I used to watch Thomas when I was younger. Back when George Carlin was Mr. Conductor…those were the days.
